Michael Steele for Chairman of the Republican National Committee

Have you ever heard of Robert Mike Duncan? Probably not, and that’s unfortunate because he is the head of the Republican National Committee and has been since since 2007. He’s a shadow projected on a cave wall. Good luck finding information about him.

Here’s his Wikipedia entry.

Here’s his fluff biography on GOP.com.

Here’s his lame blog.

Here’s ten things you didn’t know about “Mike.”

There’s no real information on him. Who is he? What were his goals while leading the party in the last year? “Mike,” presided over one of the worse presidential campaigns in the party’s history and lead us to a massive defeat in Congress. What are his plans for picking up the pieces? Good luck finding that kind of information. “Mike” is mostly invisible. I will ahead and call him a failure. Anyone who can dispute that claim, please leave a comment.

Obviously the Republican Party needs a new face, new leadership and a new agenda. The Party is ideologically bankrupt, and worthless in its current state. Without a ground up, balls to bones reboot. Two people have stepped forward to challenge “Mike” to the chairmanship. Newt Gingrich and Micheal Steele.

I have a lot of respect for Newt Gingrich. The Contract With America was excellent, one of the few signs of life in the Party post-Reagan. That said, he brings a lot of baggage to the table. Let’s not forget that he basically resigned in disgrace after a period of chaos in the House.

Newt has a place in the new Party, but that place is a high strategic role without much face time. He would be a lightening rod, an easy target for criticism, founded and unfounded.

Michael Steele is exactly what the party needs right now. He’s a new face with new ideas, and I heard him on the radio this morning, filling in for Bill Bennett on Sirius Satellite Radio. He made some comments that have convinced me that he is the right man to take over as Chairman.

His early life is very telling. “Steele’s mother was a widowed laundress who, he stated, worked for minimum wage rather than accept public assistance. Steele grew up in a Democratic household. However, as a young man he switched to the Republican Party.”

Michael Steele lived in poverty and understands that government’s promises are false ones. We need someone like him who can reach out to the people who have been enslaved by public assistance, the people who have been told that there is no hope, that they need Liberals to get by.

Just as important, on the radio this morning Michael said this “What the Democrats understand that Republicans don’t is that the fight doesn’t end on election day. Four months after I lost in Maryland I was still getting attacked by Democrats everyday. Republicans need to understand this and have a strategy to counter it.”

Amen.

Michael Steele has my sword.

I’m going to do some research. At this point I don’t know how we can help get Steele the job, but when I find out to call, who to write letters to and who to nag, I will let you know.
